OPINION: Distance Islam From Culture.

Islam is a noble religion and all Islamic acts are noble. People in the world including in Malawi must learn to differentiate Islam from their cultures.

It was awkward last weekend to witness a cultural wedding which was branded to be Islamic in nature and style in Malawi's capital, Lilongwe.

The wedding sparked debate on social media on whether it was really an Islamic marriage or it was just a certain cultural way of performing  a marriage ceremony.

Upon analysing the issue thoroughly, this publication has established that the event wasn't attached to any Islamic norm but it was a culture.

The actions which defined the whole wedding had no any Islamic link but was just their to satisfy a specific cultural grouping.

People must stop combining their cultures with Islam. Islamic teachings are clear on marriage and Muslims are supposed to abide to that.

Area 23 marriage ceremony in Lilongwe embarrassed the Muslims community since it was manipulated to be called Islamic in nature. The organisers of the wedding would have realised the impacts that their approach will cause before attaching it to Islam.

Lesson learnt and some unscrupulous Muslims  will never attach their marriage cultures to Islam. This malpractice must be stopped and Islamic marriages should be done in an Islamic way.

Muslim Poet Set To Release Video Poems

By: Sheminah Nkhoma A Blantyre based Muslim poet is set to release two video poems this year which are expected to touch the hearts of many people in the country. During the shooting of poems. Speaking in an interview,  the poet Yusuf Bamusi said that he is happy that the long awaited dream of producing his video poems will soon come true since he started the journey of composing poems. “I have been waiting for these two videos to come out and now I thank Allah that what I have been asking for is now at the last stage and that any time it will released the first poem which is titled “Kundende” is enlightening about the hardships which the prisoners are facing in different prisons in the country and the second poem is titled “UMASIYE” is explaining about the hardships which the orphans are facing when they don’t have anyone to look after them”, said Bamusi. Muslim Students Vow to Sell Malawi in Saudi Arabia

Malawian students studying at Gassim University in Saudi Arabia vowed to sell the country during People's Heritage Festival slated on Tuesday ,29th January, 2019. Speaking in an interview with Islamic  Information Kit,One of the Malawian students, Abdul Karim Shuaib said that they will let Arabs know the scope of Malawi during the event. Shuaib who is a year one student studying Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences at the University said that the festival will help them to elaborate what Malawi is.
