Opinion: Malawi Muslims Must Be Agents Of Transformation.
By: Bright Malenga
Malawi Muslims are ready to exercise their constitutional right in the next years elections just as every Malawian.
Muslims in the country will be supposed to choose leaders whom they think will develop this country.
Above all, Malawi Muslims must also open their eyes in voting for leaders who will not limit the growth and practice of Islam.
Malawi is democratic country and that democracy must be uphold since no one is above the law. In democracy , everyone is allowed to pray in whatever as long as the constitution is not infringed.
Malawi Muslims must be careful and visionary. All presidential candidates are persuading Malawians to vote for them in next year's elections. Yes, voting is our constitutional right including Muslims but these presidential candidates must be clear on how they will turn their oral promises into actions.
Malawi Muslims are ready to vote for them but the citizens of the "warm heart of Africa" are not ready to vote for politicians who will still be using political books of 17th century in 21st century.
Malawi Muslims need visible transformation both socially and politically.
Malawi Muslims just as all Malawians need someone who will be the agent of development and ready to start the adorable fresh chapter of this great nation.
Actually, all of these presidential candidates are pointing out some promising developmental plans but such plans have been presented to Malawians since 1993.
Malawi Muslims need someone who will turn such just presented plans into actions.
Malawi Muslims just as any Malawians need someone who will be sympathetic with the condition of our health system. That person must be the one who will be prioritizing our health system knowing that robust health is the foundation of development.
Malawi Muslims are vying for someone who will make learning institutions (schools) attrack pupils/students by perfecting both infrastructural and fiscal deficits.
All in all, Malawi Muslims are praying for someone who will from next year start prioritising lives, welfare and future of Malawians above everything. Let's pray for that leader.
Primarily , in next years elections in all seats either Members of Parliaments (MPs) Ward Councillorwe will not supposed to vote for someone for being a Muslim but they will supposed to vote for someone who will support and protect Islam.
