Opinion: Motivation
By: Bright Malenga
Both Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and Gross National Product (GNP) show that Malawi is struggling social economically but some features in this "Warm Heart of Africa" are incomparable. That's motivation.
Indeed, Malawi recently was ranked the third poorest country in the World by International Monetary Fund (IMF), but the capability of drawing the line between poverty and prosperity is possible based on features that she has. That's motivation.
Presence of Mountains, National Parks and Minerals such as Uranium offer hope that one day the song of victory will be sung. That's motivation.
Our Gold which is Tobacco is not selling as the hot cake as it was before but crop diversification that we have partly prioritised has some positive impacts on our national output. Our economy instead of being dwindling rampantly, it is theoretically rebounding. That's still motivation even though Malawians need it to be practical.
Despite that our domestic currency, Kwacha, trades against major foreign currencies such as United States Dollars and Great Britain at a free floating system on the money market but still more internally our currency is still holding value. That is motivation even though as a country we need to work hard to see it trading against major foreign currencies at a managed system on the money market.
We can be rated below average as a country in terms of owning major economic catalysts like manufacturing and construction but we are still believing in ourselves that one day things will tick positively. That is motivation, I am telling you.
We are all motivated to believe that our motivation motivates us to believe that our motivation will motivate our motivation.
