Outgoing National Muslim Students Association (NAMSA) Chairperson,  Jafar Jameson says his two year term in office has seen the Muslim students body achieving several things.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Islamic Information Kit, Jameson says
It has been a good experience which gave  him different decision making and problem solving skills.

"More importantly the chance to lead my fellow students is something that I will always be grateful for. I was given a position which gave me the chance to work with students for better of the whole Muslim community in the country,"

"During my tenure, we have achieved alot and we have failed to achieve other planned activities," Says Jameson.

According to the outgoing  chairperson,  the achievements include registration of NAMSA, establishment of regional Muslim Students Associations(MSA's), conducting career talks to secondary schools in different districts, making NAMSA known to students across Malawi and strengthen our relationship with other Islamic organizations for the benefit of students and the whole Muslim community at large.

However, Jameson admitted that the journey also had some challenges.

"The challenges include lack of resources to undertake our planned activities, other planned activities were not carried out or were not carried out fully for example we managed to visit just few districts, other organizations do not recognize our role in ensuring welfare of students and other students do not want to be led by NAMSA
Muslim students are just many now," Says Jameson.

Jemeson adds, "If we can unite and have a vibrant leadership,we can be stronger than ever and the Muslim community can benefit from us alot."

NAMSA is conducting an elections conference tommorow at College of Medicine, Blantyre campus under the theme " Effects of inefficient leadership in Muslim community in Malawi."

The current National Executive Committee expired on 31st December,2018.

The conference will run from 8:00 am to 2: 00 pm.
