Poet Yusuf Abubakar Slated to Perform at BICC

Indeed a journey of 1000 miles start with a mile, that's the case of a Muslim poet Yusuf Abubakar who will on 3rd February,2019 perfom at Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Malawi's capital, Lilongwe.

Abubakar will perform at a show organised by Lyco sponsored by Hivos where they want to present awards to some artists in secondary schools who put effort in their arts in 2018.

"I am recognised to perform to this big function which I don't take it for granted,"

"I will share the same stage with big names in poets such as Robert Chiwamba, Raphael Sitima just mention a few," He said.

According to Abubakar, the recognition shows that he is growing in the industry.

"It's just showing that I am growing in this industry,"

"You can't be good to all but those who watched me on the stage do appreciate my talent, I can see in the future performing live in USA, UK and other African countries," He told The Islamic Information Kit.

The awards will be presented in the following in the following categories:

1. Best Actors.
2. Best actress.
3. Best English speaker.
4. Best Upcoming actor.
5. Best Upcoming actress.
6. Best supporting actor.
7. Best supporting actress.
Best actor in a female role.
8. Best actress in male role.

The show will be in BICC Auditorium from 9: 00 pm until late and the fee  on the door is K 3000.

Muslim Poet Set To Release Video Poems

By: Sheminah Nkhoma A Blantyre based Muslim poet is set to release two video poems this year which are expected to touch the hearts of many people in the country. During the shooting of poems. Speaking in an interview,  the poet Yusuf Bamusi said that he is happy that the long awaited dream of producing his video poems will soon come true since he started the journey of composing poems. “I have been waiting for these two videos to come out and now I thank Allah that what I have been asking for is now at the last stage and that any time it will released the first poem which is titled “Kundende” is enlightening about the hardships which the prisoners are facing in different prisons in the country and the second poem is titled “UMASIYE” is explaining about the hardships which the orphans are facing when they don’t have anyone to look after them”, said Bamusi. Muslim Students Vow to Sell Malawi in Saudi Arabia

Malawian students studying at Gassim University in Saudi Arabia vowed to sell the country during People's Heritage Festival slated on Tuesday ,29th January, 2019. Speaking in an interview with Islamic  Information Kit,One of the Malawian students, Abdul Karim Shuaib said that they will let Arabs know the scope of Malawi during the event. Shuaib who is a year one student studying Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences at the University said that the festival will help them to elaborate what Malawi is.
