"Alaphiat Kombo" Releases New Nasheed Titled "Al-quraan"

Muslim female artist Alaphiat Kombo has released a new nasheed titled "Al-quraan".
Speaking in an interview with Islamic Information Kit, Kombo said that the nasheed is about the final book of Allah (God) Al-quraan that was sent to mankind through His last prophet Muhammad (May Peace Be Upon Him).
"The nasheed 'Al- quraan' is all about the holy book Al-quraan which Allah revealed to His beloved messenger, Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)."
"I mainly attached the benefits of Al-quraan as an answer, the healer, the protecter and the guider, I also emphasised that this book has everything and no any other book can be compered to it," Alaphiat said.
In her new Nasheed, the Muslim female artist stressed that this book , Al-quraan is unchangeable and that is what makes it to be unique.
She further said that nasheeds in the country are dominated by men but as an optimist, she keeps on pushing things harder.
"Though in malawi nasheeds are mostly dominated by men but as a female artist, I do put effort in it despite the fact that female artists are not encouraged as male artists," she said.
On challenges Alaphiat said that mostly the challenges she face are lack of financial support for producing videos since individual female nasheed artists are not allowed to perform on stage to generate revenue.
He also said that the only way for female artists to be known is through producing a video to be watched on televisions but it is very expensive to come up with one video.
On successes, Kombo said that people are now able to know her through social media platforms such as WhatsApp and that some well wishes have sponsored the shooting of her videos.
In this year, 2019, the artist is planning to come up with an album titled " Ya Allah."
"I have a plan of coming up with an album which will be titled "Ya Allah." So far I have eight nasheeds of which two are videos. The videos are "Ya Allah" and "Allah Akbar," she said.
Alaphiat said that she is aiming to be internationally recognised as one of the best female nasheed artists.
"I really need to be an international female nasheed artist and I wish to reach where Wafiq Azizah is. Azizah is a female nasheed artist from Indonesia and she is my best artist," she said.
She is a final year Advanced Diploma in Rural and Community Development student at International College of Business and Management( ICBM) in Blantyre.
