Sheikh Ibrahim Fickirah, the Coordinator of Lilongwe Islamic Information Bureau has asked Malawi Muslim artists to use their talent wisely to spread the religion of Allah, Islam.

Sheikh Fickirah made the remarks during Muslim Artists Seminar organised by Muslim Artists Association held on Sunday  at Islamic Information Bureau in Malawi's Capital, Lilongwe.

"Everything in this world moves better with talent, even preaching itself needs talent."

"If Almighty Allah gave you talent use it wisely. Your Niyyah should not be to be popular ,use the arts, your talent to change lives of people because you are Dawa persons," Said Sheikh Fickirah.

He  continued that the same talent can take the artists to Paradise if used wisely and the same talent will take them to hell if used inappropriately.

Muslim poet, Yusuf Abubaker  talked much about poetry and Umar Kandu is the one who elaborated on acting (drama) as well as Bashir Rashid who talked on nasheeds.

In nasheeds presentation , Bashir criticised Muslim artists to avoid the system of copying styles of other artists and he further articulated that Muslim artists should avoid using musical instruments in their nasheeds because this is prohibited

Those who came to attend the workshop appreciated the gathering and asked the association to continue arranging such seminars.

The seminar was attended by 15 artists in categories of nasheeds, drama and poetry
from different locations in Lilongwe.
