OPINION: JOURNEY OF 1000 MILES

Image
By: Bright Malenga. Entrepreneurship needs entrepreneurial mindset to be fruitful . Entrepreneurial mindset comes in gradually and grows gradually. In entrepreneurship , it is not how fat your capital is to get started but the little inputs that you have can define your journey. Sacrificing your leisure time shrewdly to score high in entrepreneurship is mandatory if you want to be successful especially at the infancy stage. In entrepreneurship, you need to believe that in what you are doing probabilities of achieving are higher than flopping but you must obviously accept the fact the challenges are also in the same boat. Successfulness in entrepreneurship is defined by how you change challenges into opportunities and how you believe that a small amount of money can make you extraordinary in the fiscal cycles. When you have roped in an entrepreneurial mindset any valid entrepreneurial activity is a space and you need to take it head on without fearing risks and uncertain...

Image
By: Bright Malenga Muslim poets Yusuf Abubaker and Mussah Ngwira have collaborated in a poem that has defined the influence of Islamic poems. Mussah Ngwira is an artist based in Lilongwe but currently living in Dedza. Ngwira is the one who came up with the idea of collaboration and  Abubaker came up with the concept as well as the title of the poem "Ndidzakamwalira." Ngwira is well known with the poems like Kaisa, Lero lomwelino, Hambali and Tsiku Lina just to mention but a few. Speaking in an interview with Islamic Information Kit Yusuf Abubaker who calls himself "the game changer "a.k .a  ( Mr ng'a ) says that, Ndidzakamwalira poem is  talking more about the situation that comes out on the ground once someone is dead. "People  start showing love or appreciating someone when she or he has faced the capital sentence. This is bad and evil. Let's love each other before our last breath." "People should expect something good in t...

Regional Groupings Must Focus on Uniform Social-Economic Progress

Image
By: Bright Malenga New Uganda road which connects Entebbe Airport to Uganda's Capital, Kampala. OPINION: Regional groupings are catalysts for the progress of countries. Both Bilateral and Multilateral relationships are vital in several aspects. For example, regional groupings agree to remove or minimise trade barriers among its member countries and sometimes comparative advantage takes a leading role in making sure that all member countries are benefiting from the cordial relationship. Examples of regional groupings are The Southern Africa Development Community (SADC), The East African Community ( EAC) and The Common Market for East and Southern Africa (COMESA). My emphasis will be on SADC and EAC. Some of the countries in SADC are Malawi, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana. EAC is an intergovernmental organization composed of six countries in the African Great Lakes region in Eastern Africa. These countries are Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda , South Sudan, Tanzania ,...

Opinion: Malawi Muslims Must Be Agents Of Transformation.

Image
By: Bright Malenga Malawi Muslims are ready to exercise their constitutional right in the next years elections just as every Malawian. Muslims in the country will be supposed to  choose leaders whom they think will develop this country. Above all, Malawi Muslims must also open their eyes in voting for leaders who will not limit the growth and practice of Islam. Malawi is democratic country and that democracy must be uphold since no one is above the law. In democracy , everyone is allowed to pray in whatever as long as the constitution is not infringed. Malawi Muslims must be careful and visionary. All presidential candidates are persuading Malawians to vote for them in next year's elections. Yes, voting is our constitutional right including Muslims but these presidential candidates must be clear on how they will turn their oral promises into actions. Malawi Muslims are ready to vote for them but the citizens of the "warm heart of Africa" are not ready to ...

MAM pen Muslim Leaders on Islamic Marriages

By: Bright Malenga Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) has asked Muslim leaders (Sheikhs) to analyse Islamic marriages before giving the newly wedded people marriage certificates. This is coming following a bogus Islamic marriage that happened last week at Area 23 in Lilongwe. In a letter, MAM has asked Sheikhs to analyse thoroughly the procedures of the reception of marriages after the Islamic procedures at the Mosque among other places. According to the letter, MAM has asked sheikhs to hold certificates of marriages that are suspected to set reception procedures which are against Islam teachings on marriages. Last week , a certain marriage ceremony in Lilongwe sparked controversy following how it was conducted during the reception. The wedding was said to be Islamic in nature but its reception style was  contrary to the Islamic rules on marriages.

OPINION: Distance Islam From Culture.

By: Bright Malenga Islam is a noble religion and all Islamic acts are noble. People in the world including in Malawi must learn to differentiate Islam from their cultures. It was awkward last weekend to witness a cultural wedding which was branded to be Islamic in nature and style in Malawi's capital, Lilongwe. The wedding sparked debate on social media on whether it was really an Islamic marriage or it was just a certain cultural way of performing  a marriage ceremony. Upon analysing the issue thoroughly, this publication has established that the event wasn't attached to any Islamic norm but it was a culture. The actions which defined the whole wedding had no any Islamic link but was just their to satisfy a specific cultural grouping. People must stop combining their cultures with Islam. Islamic teachings are clear on marriage and Muslims are supposed to abide to that. Area 23 marriage ceremony in Lilongwe embarrassed the Muslims community since it was manipul...
